Pedro Ruiz Diaz began working in the saddlery workshops in Argentina aged just 16 when he moved from his homeland, Paraguay to Buenos Aires.

He set about learning the essence and secrets of the trade that he is deeply passionate about. In 1971 aged 24, he decided to set up his own saddle making business and established Talabartería Ruiz Diaz, based on the concept of a union of craftsmanship, quality and technology, to achieve a superior product.

Mr Ruiz Diaz went on to create the world-famous saddle ranges for show jumper Rodrigo Pessoa and latterly, the brand has formed a well-established relationship with dressage guru Carl Hester, with its Professional Dressage Solutions (PDS) range. 

Over the past 50 years Talabartería Ruiz Diaz has developed into a widely recognised, international company and is now considered to be a benchmark for top level performance saddles. 

Expansion of its industrial plant, incorporation of state-of-the-art technology and opening of new markets has seen Ruiz Diaz be the choice for leading riders to collaborate with.

Pedro Ruiz Diaz is still very much in control of the business, leading with his passion for new technology fused with his skills and experience in the handmade techniques and understanding of the art of saddle making.  His employees are also saddlery artisans, many of them having worked alongside Pedro for many decades.

His family are very much involved with the business.
